2023 Second Century Stewardship Fellowship Request for Proposals

The partners of Second Century Stewardship have announced the Request for Proposals for fellowships to support research in Acadia National Park in 2023.

Second Century Stewardship is a partnership of Schoodic Institute at Acadia National Park and  the National Park Service, and seeks to advance conservation and ecosystem science, support management of park resources, and strengthen and broaden the importance of science for parks and society.

To date, Second Century Stewardship has supported 18 fellows whose research has contributed to park resource management, and in many cases has led to additional or broader science collaborations in Acadia National Park and beyond. Proposals on a wide variety of topics are invited, but research must address priority research management issues in Acadia, such as climate change adaptation. Proposals for research that includes multiple national park units are encouraged.

Second Century Steward began in 2016 during the centennial of the National Park Service through the generous support of the National Park Foundation and the David Evans Shaw Family Foundation.

The deadline for proposals is October 27, 2022.

An overview of Second Century Stewardship, the Research Fellowship, the application process, and park research priorities will be held on Friday, September 16 at 3:00 p.m. Eastern time. We strongly recommend that you attend the 90-minute webinar.

Visit scsparkscience.org for more information, webinar registration, webinar recording (after September 16), and the application portal.
