Biographical Sketch

Originally from Rochester, NY, Mr. Kevin T. Heard, GISP received his MA in Geography from Binghamton University in 2002 and his BA in Geography from SUNY Geneseo in 2000.  He has been running the GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Core Facility at BU as Associate Director for over 15 years.  The facility facilitates GIS research, education, and projects across campus. In 2007 he earned his certificate in Geographic Information Systems and holds the title of GISP (Geographic Information Systems Professional) which entails that he has met all the standards for ethical conduct and professional practice as established by the GIS Certification Institute.  He has previously held the title of Regional Coordinator for the Southern Tier chapter of the New York State GIS Association.  His main interests are Demography, Cartographic Visualizations and Web Mapping.  He currently resides in Port Crane, NY with his wife and 3 kids.
