Biographical Sketch

Dr. Todd Lookingbill is a landscape ecologist with 15 years of experience conducting landscape monitoring and environmental assessment with the National Park Service and other federal partners. His primary research interests relate to urban and suburban parks, and he has just completed a book project on the conservation value of landscapes of war. He has conducted four National Natural Landmark evaluations and six Natural Resource Condition Assessments. He has authored or co-authored over 30 peer-reviewed publications and more than a dozen technical reports, many of which are based in National Parks of the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast U.S. He has also published his research in several NPS-specific venues such as ParkScience and the George Wright Forum.


Education

Dr. Lookingbill received a BA in Ecology from Princeton University and a PhD from Duke University’s interdisciplinary Nicholas School of the Environment.
