Instructor / Assistant Professor of Biology – Quantitative Vertebrate Ecologist
Frostburg State University, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, seeks applications for a full-time tenure-track Instructor / Assistant Professor of Biology. This position is available to begin Fall 2022 for the main campus in Frostburg, Maryland. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications; University System of Maryland benefits package included.
The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) includes the Department of Biology. In the college, we believe that diversity enriches our community and enhances our students’ educational experience. Responsibilities: Responsibilities include teaching courses in Quantitative Vertebrate Analysis of Vertebrate Populations and Herpetology or Ornithology (depending on the candidate’s specialty). Other courses may include General Biology, General Zoology, and graduate level courses as needed. Duties will also include student advising, professional development activities, and service to the Department, College, University, and community.
Minimum Qualifications: ABD or Doctoral degree in biology, ecology, or a closely related field. The candidate must have a strong background in statistics, and extensive knowledge of ornithology or herpetology is preferred. Experience teaching in higher education and/or relevant research experience is a plus.
If selected candidate is ABD, they will be hired at the rank of Instructor, with the requirement that the candidate finish the doctoral degree within the first year of employment.
