We are now accepting applications for our NSF-funded master’s degree program known as ICARE – Interdisciplinary Consortium for Applied Research in the Environment. Our main goals are increasing diversity in the environmental workforce and community-engaged research in the Baltimore Harbor and surrounding neighborhoods, habitats and watersheds. The target date for applications is January 1, 2023.
Student Benefits Include:
- $34,000 annual stipend, full tuition coverage, fees, & health insurance.
- Up to $7,500 in research expenses.
- Mentoring and networking with employers across the environmental sector.
Students should apply to any of the five affiliated UMBC departments: 1) Geography and Environmental Systems; 2) Biological Sciences; 3) Chemical, Biochemical and Environmental Engineering; 4) Marine Estuarine Environmental Sciences; or 5) School of Public Policy.
